Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Makes: Enough for 6 slices
Ingredients
150g butter
100g milk chocolate
200g sugar
2 eggs
40g cocoa powder
125g plain flour
Dash of vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
1. Kladd that kaka
Gather your friends an family together for the impending fika, preheat your oven to 200°C and grease a baking tin (around 18-20cm)
Melt together your 150g butter and 100g milk chocolate, we used a bain-marie for this but you can always carefully melt everything together using your Microwavé, channel your inner Nogella.

In a different bowl, mix together 200g sugar, 2 eggs and a dash of vanilla until as pale as a Scandinavian summer’s day.

Sift the dry ingredients (40g cocoa powder,125g plain flour, pinch of sea salt) into the egg and sugar mixture and fold together gently using a spatula.

Once that is combined, fold in the chocolate and butter mixture gently, you go willy wonko!

Add the mixture to the tin and bake for 15 minutes. Keep and eye on it though! Kladdkaka should be gooey in the middle, so check with a toothpick (or knitting needle in our house) a few cm from the edge to see if it comes out clean.

Add some finishing touches with a sprinkle of icing sugar. If your Fika is only attended by family members feel free to blow off any extra icing sugar you sprinkled.

Serve with whipped cream and berries if you so wish
Dinka and sinka at Fika!

Food for Thought

Lizzy says: “Are you a fan of chocolate brownies and are they never big enough for you? Then this is the recipe for you. I don’t know what I was expecting from kladdkaka, but I was not expecting something this good. The recipe was very easy, the end result was so rich, so you definitely need to serve it with some berries! Preferably raspberries. It was the perfect end to a lovely Sunday lunch 10/10“
Kate says: “Lo and behold, our first big cake on GWS. This has been on the “to gasp” list for a while, but only felt fitting to make when the whole family was reunited, rather than each baking a Kladdkaka to consume solo. This, however, took a while due to our eternal nemesis, Corona. But I must admit it sure was worth the wait…It is like one huge gooey brownie, but somehow better(?!) especially with a dollop of cream and raspberries. Very rich and decadent, so you will only need a small slice but delicious nonetheless 10/10″
